Shake Shack and Cow Tipping Creamery in Dallas

 Photography by Elizabeth Zamora

Recently, I ventured out in Dallas to find a few new foodie locations and items to try. Shake Shack  recently opened a place in Dallas by the Crescent Hotel and Cow Tipping Creamery  debuted a new menu item – the donut ice cream come. Yum!

Shake Shack:

I have been a HUGE fan of Shake Shack for years and I have to admit that it is my favorite burger spot (sorry Whataburger!). My first experience at Shake Shack was in New York’s Madison Square Park. Not only did I get a Shack Burger and cheese fries (double yum!), but also a chocolate custard. When I heard Shake Shack was coming to Dallas, I was so happy and excited! 🍔

Since opening their first place on September 1 in Dallas, I have been to Shake Shack a few times and I am not disappointed! A few cool facts about this new place is that there are three unique menu items featuring local Dallas businesses. Those items include the Link Burger (featuring a jalapeño cheese sausage made at Pecan Lodge in Deep Ellum), the Dallas Pie Oh My (featuring Emporium Pie‘s seasonal pie), and the Shack Attack concrete (featuring cocoa nib crack bar from Dude, Sweet Chocolate).

When you plan your visit, there is parking outside of Shake Shack and underground parking. Expect to wait in line, but know that it typically moves quickly. There is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors, as well as, a few outdoor games like cornhole. Additionally, the staff is amazing, so if you need anything, just let them know.

Cow Tipping Creamery:

Our next spot is at Cow Tipping Creamery in East Dallas. This is a local favorite of mine where you can create your own ice cream cups or cones and it is an original from Austin. This week, Cow Tipping Creamery debuted the donut ice cream come! Yes, you read that right. Donut. Ice cream. Cone. 🍦

Of course, I had to try it so I rushed over and got my hands on my very own ice cream treat. This limited edition menu item costs $7 and is available until September 16. I chose the flavor of the day called – The Cop Stop – featuring cold brew coffee soft serve and coffee soil. This combination of the coffee with the donut cone was perfect like having a hot cup of coffee with a donut in the morning.

Make this your number one stop on Friday night as this delicious treat is not going around for long!

I have not been to Cow TIpping Creamery or Shake Shack….but we had one in NJ close to where I used to live and now theres a Shake Shack here in ATL. I’ve heard its really good and the line is always out the door…..I really want to try it now though because I love “Cake Shakes” and I’ve been told shake shack makes a bomb one!

I think the Shake Shack is good, very taste, but a bit overrated. I’ve been to some locations that have a line wrapped around the block. Crazy. I’d be hangry by the time I got to the front. I have heard about that new doughnut cone and I’m going to have to try it on my next layover. Hopefully there’s no line lol. Thanks for sharing your experience and delicious pics!

Shake Shack is very popular! I believe there are also donut ice cream cones in New York City. 🙂

That icecream though. Next time I’m in Dallas I’m going there. I saw a line wrapped around Shake Shack at 10pm on a weeknight when I was in NYC last month. I didn’t get it. I must try.
